Overview of setting up the electronic lab notebook eCAT up for a lab. Shows how to set eCAT up with three sets of folders: a Users section for information managed by individual users, such as experiments; a Lab Resources section for lab wide-wide information like lab protocols and constructs; and a Projects section for things worked on in groups. Explains how to set up sharing and permissions for each of these three folders to establish a desirable mix of privacy and group access to records. Finally, explains how to use Preferences to configure eCAT to reflect group and individual working style and work flow.
