Import Office documents

We know you use lots of other tools in documenting your research - like Word for taking notes and writing papers and spreadsheets for arranging data and making tables. That's why eCAT has importers which allow you to get data from Office documents into eCAT.

You can watch a video on importing with eCAT by clicking on the image below. The different office importer types are then detailed under that. You can also click here for more information on importing images.

01. Import
Microsoft Word

All sorts of data can be stored in Word and its many clones. When you import your data from Word into eCAT you can then continue to edit it inside your browser, just like in Google Docs.

The Word importer imports tables, lists and images as well as all your text and styling so your documents look and feel like their Word originals.

02. Import
Microsoft Excel

Tabular data and the power of formulae make spreadsheets very popular in the scientific community.

eCAT can import your existing spreadsheet data and you can continue to edit and manipulate that data inside your browser with eCAT's spreadsheet editor.

eCAT is a flexible, easy to use electronic lab notebook that lets you add structure to your lab's research data in an integrated collaborative online environment.
